The BreakThru Legacy
Decide what you will leave behind. Then start leaving it now.
The BreakThru Legacy helps you define what you want to pass on through your relationships, your values, your example, your stories and your contributions. It is not about estates or monuments. It is about the effect your life has on the people who outlast it, and about living that effect on purpose, starting today.
Where you might be
Think of someone who shaped you and is no longer here.
What you remember is probably not their achievements. It is a sentence they said once. The way they treated a waiter. The story they told at every holiday. The thing they always did, without fail, that you now do without thinking. Their legacy was not something they planned. It was simply how they lived, caught by the people who were watching.
Which means you are leaving one already. Every day. In how you speak to your children or your nieces or the young person at work who watches you more closely than you realize. In the values you act on and the ones you only talk about. In the stories you tell and the ones you have never told anyone.
Most people never decide what that legacy should be. It just accumulates. The question this program asks is simple and slightly uncomfortable: what if you chose?
The BreakThru Legacy is about choosing.
The possibility
What becomes possible.
Imagine being able to say, in plain words, what you want to pass on. The three or four values you want to outlive you. The kind of person you want people to describe when they describe you. The stories you want to make sure get told.
Imagine looking at an ordinary week and seeing where that legacy is being built and where it is being contradicted. Imagine closing that gap, one small change at a time, while you still have the time.
Imagine writing down the stories and the lessons, so they are not lost. Imagine choosing one person to invest in deliberately, and watching something you know take root in someone else.
That is the possibility. A legacy you decided on, lived now, instead of one assembled by accident and discovered later.
What you develop
What this program helps you develop.
- 01
A clear legacy statement
What you want to pass on, in your own words, across relationships, values, example, stories and contribution.
- 02
An honest example audit
A view of where your daily conduct builds the legacy you want and where it undercuts it.
- 03
Your stories, gathered
The experiences and lessons you want preserved, written down or recorded so that they survive you.
- 04
Values that are transmitted, not just held
Practical ways of passing on what matters to you through action rather than lecture.
- 05
A deliberate investment in someone
One or more people you have chosen to encourage, teach or mentor, with their agreement.
- 06
A contribution with a longer horizon
Something you give that is designed to outlast your involvement.
- 07
A letter that says what you mean
A written message to the people who matter, finished while you can still say it in person.
How it works
How the experience works.
The structure of The BreakThru Legacy is proposed and has not been finalized. The outline below describes the intended experience.
Looking back and forward
You begin by reflecting on the legacies you received, the ones you are already leaving, and the one you want to choose.
Lessons
Short lessons from Tyson E. Sam on legacy as daily example, the transmission of values, the power of stories, and contribution that outlasts you.
Reflective practice and projects
Written exercises leading to a legacy statement, plus a small number of projects: gathering stories, writing a letter, investing in one person.
Community
Meetups and a discussion space where members share the legacies that shaped them and the ones they are building.
Companion app
Legacy statement, example audit, stories and letters in the BreakThru Mindset companion app, which is in development.
This program is personal development. It is not estate planning, legal, financial or medical advice, and it does not replace any of them.
Inside the program
Topics and practices.
- 01
The legacies you received
You write about two or three people who shaped you and what, specifically, they passed on. A phrase, a habit, a value, a way of treating people. You notice how little of it was planned.
- 02
The legacy you are already leaving
You ask honestly what the people who watch you most closely are learning from how you live. You write it down without flinching.
- 03
The legacy statement
You write what you want to pass on, under five headings: relationships, values, example, stories and contribution. One or two sentences each.
- 04
The example audit
For one week you note moments when your conduct matched your legacy statement and moments when it did not. You choose one gap to close.
- 05
Gathering your stories
You list the stories and lessons you want preserved. You write or record one each week, in your own voice, for a specific person.
- 06
Passing on a value
You choose one value and design a way to transmit it through action: something you do with someone, not something you tell them.
- 07
Investing in one person
With their agreement, you choose one person to encourage, teach or mentor over the season. You decide what you will give and how often.
- 08
The letter
You write to the people who matter most, saying what you want them to know. Then you decide whether to give it now.
Who it's for
Is this for you?
You have reached a point where you think about what you will leave
A birthday, a loss, a grandchild, a diagnosis, or simply time. You want to think about it deliberately.
You want your values to outlive you
You are not sure they are being passed on, and you want to be.
You carry stories nobody has heard
You want them preserved before they are lost.
You mentor or lead others, formally or informally
You want the influence you have to be intentional.
You do not have children and still want to leave something
Legacy through relationships, example and contribution belongs to you fully.
You have a past you are not proud of
You want what comes next to say something different, and you want to begin.
A view of the transformation
Before and after.
Your legacy is accumulating by default. You have never written down what you want to pass on. The people who watch you are learning from your example without your deciding what that example should be. Your stories live only in your memory. Your influence on others is real and unplanned.
You have a legacy statement under five headings and you have read it many times. You know where your daily conduct matches it and you have closed at least one gap. Several of your stories are written or recorded, each for a specific person. You have passed on one value through action. You are deliberately investing in at least one person. You have written the letter, and you may already have given it.
This is what practice can make possible. It is not a guarantee, and you do not control what people take from your life. What changes is that you have chosen what to offer.
Why this program
Why this program exists.
I GIVE, the fourth foundational stage, ends with a legacy letter and the mantra “Leave a legacy that lives on.” The BreakThru Legacy exists because that letter can open a door you want to walk through.
It addresses a specific need: the desire to make the effect of your life intentional. Everything in BreakThru Mindset is about becoming aware, clear and intentional. Legacy is where that intention reaches past your own lifetime. The program takes the brand’s central question and turns it toward others: who would you be, and what would you leave, if the life you desired were already done?
Questions
Common questions.
Is legacy only for older people?
No. Legacy is being built from the first day someone watches how you live, which is earlier than most people think. Choosing it at thirty changes the next fifty years. Choosing it at seventy changes the next ten, and the stories you preserve this year. The program is for anyone who wants to be deliberate about the effect of their life.
Is this about money or estate planning?
No. The program does not deal with wills, estates, finances or legal arrangements, and it offers no advice on them. Its five headings are relationships, values, example, stories and contribution. If you also want to plan your estate, please work with a qualified professional.
What if I do not have children?
Then your legacy lives through everyone else you touch: nieces and nephews, students, colleagues, friends, neighbors, the people you mentor, the community you contribute to. Some of the most deliberate legacies belong to people without children. The program is written for you as fully as for anyone.
What if my past is not something I am proud of?
Legacy is built from here forward. The program asks what you are leaving now and what you want to leave next, not what you have already left. A past you regret can be the strongest reason to choose deliberately, and the letter practice is where that can turn into something.
Is this about writing a memoir?
Not unless you want it to be. The story practice is about preserving specific stories and lessons for specific people, in whatever form works: a page, a voice note, a conversation that someone records. You might end up with a book. More likely you end up with a few things that matter to the people who receive them.
Do I need to have completed any other program first?
No. The BreakThru Legacy is a focused program you can take on its own. If you have finished I GIVE, it is a natural next step.
Join the Interest List
You are leaving a legacy already. The only question is whether you chose it.
The BreakThru Legacy gives you a way to choose: a statement of what you want to pass on, an honest look at your example, your stories preserved for the people who should have them, a value transmitted through action, one person invested in, and a letter that says what you mean. Decide what you will leave behind. Then start leaving it now.
Join the Interest List and we will let you know when the program opens.
