Principle 4 of 6

People & Relationships

Understand how your relationships influence your attitudes, behaviors, decisions, and opportunities.

The BreakThru Method teaches that the people you spend time with shape your expectations, habits and opportunities, so building supportive relationships, and setting healthy boundaries, is part of personal growth.

You are shaped by the conversations you have most often. The people around you influence what feels normal, what feels possible and what you think you deserve. This principle helps you be intentional about your relationships without being cold about them.

Your circle sets your normal

When the people around you talk about growth, you start to think about growth. When the conversation is mostly complaint, complaint starts to feel normal. Notice the patterns in your circle, and notice which of them you are carrying.

Gratitude strengthens relationships

Expressing specific appreciation to the people in your life is one of the simplest ways to deepen connection. It also trains you to notice what is good in others, not only what is lacking.

Boundaries are part of love

Growth sometimes means spending less time in conversations or environments that keep you small. Boundaries are not about judging others. They are about protecting the person you are becoming.

Seek mentors, peers and people to serve

A healthy circle includes people ahead of you who can guide you, people beside you who can walk with you, and people you can help. Each one teaches something different.
